purposes. The weight of the cord is only 30 grams (~1 ounce), you can store it
in a pocket and it comes in handy whenever you need it. The parachute cord is of
core-mantle type; it consists of four twined nylon strands surrounded of a spun
nylon mantle. You can therefore take apart the cord and use the separate parts
for a lot of different purposes.
